Week 15 the 25th of June

As I mentioned before I’ve got a new job in a new restaurant at Neude. I will be one of the two management with another guy called Robert. When I was there today I told him about all the personal learning objectives I try to accomplish these weeks and that  I started to read the Bible and it turns out that he is religious himself.

We have had a quite long talk about the Bible and how some are interpreted and should be interpreted by the government of various religious nations and people. In conclusion what I’m trying to say is that the conversation with him help me shape my opinion about religion and that not everything that is written should be taken directly as it is written, however, it should be studied and understood to not understand its actual purpose.

Week 15 the 24th of June

Together with the honor student from the IBMS program, we have challenged a huge social marketing campaign for the DODORE foundation. We’ve mainly focused on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook and made sure that our closest friends and family shared and reposted our campaign to reach as many people as it is possible within the week’s time.

The campaign focuses on getting attention for undeveloped areas and raise funds for those who need food in these times of crisis as no one should go hungry while trying to save others in the society by staying at home.

I have also had an interview with Dânut I didn’t from the first track who is currently the chairman at get-connected. As he is graduating next year I’m leaving for his main abroad this year I am very interested in his position as chairman therefore that we have a chat about the position and if I am the right man to follow his position up.

To hear some words for next week whether I’ve been chosen or not.

Week 15 the 23rd of June

Yesterday I opened up the example to look at the questions and answered dose of which I will certainly sure. Today I finish my exam and I am proud to announce that I have passed the test with 80% of questions answered correctly.

I will add the certificate from the course to my LinkedIn profile and put on my CV as I believe is a good asset for in the future. Side note; this has caused me so much more time than I intended to spend on it.

Week 15 the 22nd of June

So the introduction to marketing course is made up of five chapters, the last chapter is called applied marketing and is an optional chapter. Since I am paying for the course I want to gain the full knowledge and experience out of it. In this chapter, the host provided many different examples of marketing in places like China where a lot of advertisements from the west is been censored. India where sex-related advertisements like that from Durex had to come up with a creative idea to attract the very conservative customers, and the top three commercial advertisements ever made.

I’ve also had a look at the syllabus in which you can find how are you be credit for your final exam. I am very happy I passed all the test exams because it turns out that each of these is equivalent to 20% of the final grade. Final exam questions from all the chapters. For today I will focus deeply on all the information needed for me to have the final exam tomorrow.

Week 14 the 19th of June

For the study of a foreign language I started to write all the Spanish new verbs I encounter on the Duolingo application. It is very important to know all the verbs independently and know how to conjugate them for use. I also grabbed my Spanish book from the last semester and looked up where the listening part can be downloaded online, and looked up the reading from the first chapters to see how much of level A1 I do understand. Conclusion 100%.

Week 14 the 18th of June

Anyone reading with the Bible I start to acknowledge the link between advanced and basic English. E.g. The land produced vegetation. Instead of modern English which would say e.g. plants were grown on these grounds. To make sure that I understand everything that’s written correctly I write all the new words down with translation in Dutch next to it. Because from writing down you will remember stuff you had encountered easier. I also called my grandmother who lives in Poland to wish her a happy birthday on the day she celebrates her 65th birthday. I told her about my journey when reading the bible and all the different stuff I encounter. However right after I told her that the conversation just kept going on about religion and I lost interest in talking with her. So the conversation did not take too long.

Week 14 the 17th of June

Today we’ve had an online meeting via teams with the honors students. The conclusion of today’s meeting was to start an online marketing campaign in which we raise money for the DODORE foundation who provides meals for children in the slums of Nairobi. Now during Corona, the cause is even more important than ever before. Many of the parents of the children has lost her job due to the virus and the pandemic so it’s important for us to raise as much money as possible.

In the afternoon I also went through all the material of the course, studied it, and did the test exam with a score of 65% meaning a fail and re-doing the exam with the second scored 75% meaning a pass.

Week 14 the 15th of June

Today’s Monday I started with the fourth chapter of ‘introduction to marketing’ course. The chapter is called branding and is subdivided into parts of effective branding and communication strategy. The chapter dives deep into brand messaging and communication explains its perception. elaborate a lot on brand element referring to choosing a brand name, with criteria and how to make it appealing and mindful. Finally giving you all the positive impact of an effective brand name.

Week 13 the 12th of June

As I got the results from my Erasmus OSL test they compare those from March to those I just got and conclude. From the results it can be said that my English has improved from level B1 to level B2, however, it differs in terms of writing reading vocabulary and different aspects the end conclusion is that my overall English has improved over the past few weeks. Spanish is also one of the languages that I would like to master one day therefore I was very involved in practicing Spanish via Duolingo.

This morning I also had a workshop that could be comparable to the workshop yesterday. Today it was all about grading perfect on the letter, however, the gas collection was pretty bad and it was all boring so after 20 minutes of listening, I left the workshop.
