Week 1 the 11th of March

As I was told yesterday I was attending a course set by my supervisor from which we will receive a certificate. I was preparing myself mentally for a lot of listening and paying attention.

Although if I am honest I have to confess that it was very hard for me to pay attention for so long in a row. I have picked up a lot of information on how to deal and work with Facebook AD using a business profile and read the script given to me afterward. Although I do not think it was very important for me to get to know all of this since I did not and am not planning to work in Marketing.

Week 1 the 10th of March

The second day my supervisor assigned me the task to focus on the communication with the potential customers via LinkedIn. Also, he has asked one of my other colleagues ‘Sacha” to introduce me to Lead Generation which is currently being carried out by the company for another firm. Moreover, I have got informed that tomorrow the 11th we the new recruits will receive a course on Social media and Facebook advertisement.

I asked my supervisor about the financial statements necessary for my PLP and explained why I was asking that. I was told that that information is confidential and therefore cannot be shared with me, however, he will share some rough data with me of which I can make my own estimates to proceed with my PLP

Week 1 the 9th of March

My first day at Vision Factory was a great day to look back at. Via e-mail, I got informed that I am expected at 8:00 am sharp at the company. Even though the public transportation ‘metro’ is still kinda new to me I made it thanks to Google maps’.

When arrived at the company together with my colleagues and fellow students “Bart & Dominique’’ we had received a welcome by our supervisor and an introduction about the company and what our tasks for this first week are going to be depending on the department you work in, also what is important to take care of to have an easy start such as making an email for using at work. I have chatted a little with our supervisor, which also originates from Poland, and found out that I will have a hard time to express myself in my mother language on a business level. One of the other tasks assigned to me was reaching out to potential customers on linked in based on their level of education.Piotr my supervisor was super supportive and excited about speaking polish with me and said that it is a great opportunity to practice it as I have shown him my personal learning plan and explained that throughout the years my mother language became a less vital part of my life.
